Learn to teach our Intermediate Advanced Class.
Many teachers believe you have to be an expert in advanced poses, or be able to perform all the advanced asanas yourself to be able to teach an Advanced class. Being familiar with how to teach all the advanced poses is of course of the utmost importance. However the skills needed to teach advanced practitioners requires advanced teaching skills.
The advanced practitioner doesnt need the same level of beginner script or explanation. It is imperative the the teacher develops:
- Clean relevant script with no extra words. People will be in extreme poses and a second or two more or less than needed can lead to problems such as injury, due to holding too long or not long enough.
- Always being able to stay a step ahead of your students. This means you can prevent issues before they occur, while also keeping your more advanced practitioners motivated.
- Recognising when students are at their maximum, and when it is or is not appropriate to offer the next level.
- Flawless Staged entries and exits.
- Leaving enough empty space for the Advanced practitioner to have their own experience.
